Mr. Khurana, is currently managing Newgen Holdings and Group companies; Newgen Communications, Newgen IteS and Newgen Media Division.
In addition to the Newgen Group companies, Mr. Khurana is also independent director on the Boards of Insight Alpha Pvt. Ltd., Microqual Techno Pvt. Ltd. and Hits Telecom Holding KCO.
He has previously held leadership positions as: Group President of Reliance Infocomm Limited (later Reliance Communications Limited) and Vice Chairman, Reliance Telecom Limited. Spearheaded RCom operations and initiatives including those of subsidiaries and associate companies such as Flag Telecom, UK; Wordtel, Sweden, Warf Telecom, Maldives etc.
Mr. Khurana held senior management positions at Bharti Televentures Limited (Airtel) as President – Networks Business Group; DSC Communications A/S, Denmark as Director – Asia Pacific and Aabha Management Systems Pvt. Ltd. as Chairman and Managing Director.
Mr. Khurana, B. Tech of IITD, has 43 years of experience of setting up and successfully operating information, communications and entertainment enterprises in public and private sector. He was the founder CEO and Managing Director of Punjab Wireless Systems Ltd. at the age of 32 years, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited at 41, founder Chairman & Managing Director of Optel Telecommunications Limited at 44. Mr. Khurana was awarded the Indian industry recognition ‘Udhyog Ratna’ in 1996 for his contributions in creating “Institutions of Excellence”.
